Oh, gee. Sinsull with a bodhran?

This thread is a candidate for the non-music section, fer sure.
D'ya think Sinsull is actually going to make music with that thing? Maybe it's just as well I'm not going to the Getaway this year. A woman with a bodhran is a terrible thing.

She might bop me on the head with it.

Subject: RE: Bodhran: Revenge of the whale tambourine

Why has this thread been moved into the BS section without a BS designation? It is about music! Is this another example of a clone (*No the Head CLone!) imposing his warped understanding of what music is all about on members of the Mudcat who are not able to fight back because Max has not seen fit to provide them with the necessatry passwords to protect their own postings from those who would impose their will on them when they don't want them to impose their will or their relidgion or their warped interpretation of what the Mudcat is about when they don't understand what the Mudcat is about or not? Do I have to go back and cut and paste every example of this abuse of what the Mudcat is all about in order to get this warping stopped? What warped interpretation of music allows Joe Clone to dismiss me as an unworthy bodhran player because I am a woman who he thinks is non-musical when I am musical to some but not all who have heard my music when I choose to share it with those who do not impose their warped interpretaion of my music on others. So if you must change the placement of my thread without my permission because you don't understand it or you wish to impose your warped interpretation of my thread on me and others who don't agree with your warped interpretation at least add a BS designation to the transposed thread so as not to confuse those who do not agree that this is not a music thread.

This from Joe Offer:
You're right, Shambles.
Thread titles are neither right nor wrong.

However, they can be misleading.
And if they're misleading, we try to make them more useful.

Gig thread titles are more useful if they include name, date, and place.

Song thread titles are more useful if they include song name and songwriter name (if applicable).

PEL thread titles are more useful if people know they're about PEL's.

Obituary threads are more useful if they include the "Obit" tag, the person's name, and date of death.

Titles in general are more useful if they contain complete, correctly-spelled words. Search engines have a hard time finding incorrectly-spelled words.

And so forth.

It's purely a matter of function, not morals.

-Joe Offer-

By what moral system does he have the right to say that a woman can not play a bodhran? And why does he accuse me of potential vioplence? I have never committed an assault on anything but the English languiage which I love dearly as much as I love the flag of the US as well as the flag of Canada but I don't like the Union Jack - too garish but I have never hit anyone with a flag, a flagpole, a bodhran nor have I ever criticized anyone' love of old church songs like "Long Live The Pope" but not being a Joe Clone or a Josephine Clone I cannot usurp others' abilities to post what they please where they please and impose my sense of decorum on those whop I think lack decorum or flags. What have you to say to that Joe Offer if you have anything to say about any of this at any time today or yesterday or tomorrow or whenever you stop imposing.

Mary Sunshine
    What can I say, Sins?
    -Joe Offer, Speechless-

And if I did say something, I'd get bopped upside the head with a bodhran, fer sure.

Sins--personally, I prefer your dAMN CaPSLOcks posts. Is vioplence something that vamps and loose women do? The ethnic slur on Italians lacking decorum is quite uncalled for.

Also, I want you to know that I still think you are wonderful, but Dani is my best friend, not to mention my ride to the Getaway....so I hope you understand if I don't speak to you at Ramblewood.

BUY a tipper? She might not have to. She might know someone who makes custom tippers. Someone who has designed and made the ultimate tipper after years of trial and error by collecting nearly a hundred different tippers from all over the world, trying each one, and combining the attributes and qualities of the very best of these tippers.

Or, she could whittle a stick from the nearest tree. Not much difference.

However, don't let the fact that I agree lead you to the conclusion that I also concur. Nothing could be farther from the truth. I do not concur, have never concurred in the past, and have no plans of concurring in the future. So, there also!

I'm afraid.

THE BIG TUMP ALBUM
PARTRIDGE BERRY JAM
Buddy Wasisname and The Other Fellers

Uncle Henry went to Florida to satisfy Aunt Mag
Going through the airport they x-rayed his bag
They didn't find the weapons of a hijacking man
They found thirteen bottles of partridgeberry jam.

Chorus
Partridgeberry jam, partridgeberry jam
Best darn food ever known to man
Smear it knee deep on some homemade bread
Or eat it right from the jar.

Uncle Henry took the shivers and he almost passed away
Took him to emergency 'twas there he had to stay
They gave him chemotherapy and all kinds of pills
As time passed by he went further down the hill.

Now Aunt Mag got the notion she was going to take him home
Stuff him full of grub never leave him alone
She fed him partridge berries til his skin turned red
Now he's out jiggin' cod instead of lying home in bed.

Chorus

Uncle Henry took a nap in the middle of the day
And Mag went and found him lying on the hay
The stains in his shirt was like the blood from her man
But 'twas only the juice from the partridgeberry jam.

Chorus

Uncle Henry had it figured out as clear as it could be
We all need to eat lots of Vitamin C
But we don't need the fruit from a Florida man
There's all kinds of berries right here in Newfoundland.

One of my favourite tippers is one of these, with a centre grip. They are made by a guy called John McKnowall, and they are called The Ratter. They have a rubber ring that you can slide up and down to get different qualities of sound.

I thought they would sound too harsh, but mine doesn't.

Jenny
