Years ago I saw a programme which visited the London Underground's Lost Property Dept. Among all the unclaimed items was a white-painted double bass. I could imagine losing a brolly (imagine, hell I've done it) but a double bass? |

30 Sep 05 - 09:45 PM (#1573090) Subject: RE: BS: People Leaving thing in Taxis From: SINSULL Bruce - did you read about my nephew's adventure on an airplane? Projectile vomiting before it even left the terminal. I have left things in taxis. Sorry Sir jOhn. Once I left a purse with all my credit cards and a large amount of cash. I was in NYC looking for an apartment while moving from Chicago. Two weeks later, the cabbie tracked me down via a Chicago library card. He was a very young man whose mother harped at me the whole time I was at his home retrieving the wallet. He had not touched a thing and was rewarded generously. Surely this is not as serious an offense as leaving dead moggies on your lawn? |

06 Oct 05 - 08:37 PM (#1577614) Subject: RE: BS: People Leaving thing in Taxis From: Allan C. It was amazing! One of the few times I ever needed a taxi and there it was, right in front of me. I plopped my bag in the back and before long we were at my destination. When I went to get my bag I noticed a guitar next to it. I asked the driver if he played. He said he didn't. It was left by some guy who rode with him a few hours before. I laughingly said that I'd give him ten dollars for it. To my great surprise he said, "Make it $20 and you've got a deal." I handed him the money, grabbed the guitar and ran. It turned out to be a brand new Gibson! |
