30 Sep 05 - 09:08 PM (#1573063) Subject: BS: Curmudgeon Survives Another Birthday From: Bat Goddess Well, at least he will have by the time he gets home from The Press Room. Mudcat was down this morning and I was waaaay too busy at work to do this earlier. This is the first birthday he's had in years that didn't fall in the middle of the Portsmouth Maritime Folk Festival. He didn't have a chance, though, to just do what he wanted to today, but at least we had a chance to get together for a seafood lunch overlooking Great Bay. (Ten bucks off on your B.D.) I just hope he comes through the day without anyone singing that horrible "Happy Birthday" doggeral he hates at him -- that would be a merciful gift for a wonderful singer and musical historian. 01 Oct 05 - 08:36 AM (#1573324) Subject: RE: BS: Curmudgeon Survives Another Birthday From: Bat Goddess Gnu -- 4 boxed sets (14 tapes) of the Sharpe's PBS series. Presented in a battered French knapsack, which was thrown in when I scored these tapes (and more !) at a yardsale earlier this summer. I do most of my gift shopping (and most other shopping) at yardsales -- stuff to enhance our lifestyle without spending much money, stuff to resell, cool stuff to give to friends and family without breaking the bank. We both had pretty full days yesterday, so he found the knapsack (and another card) on his chair this morning after he relinquished his spot at the computer. Gotta go insulate the cat and feed Tom his scrambled eggs and cream cheese. We've got a busy day (and weekend) ahead shovelling out the house in anticipation of fore and aft Getaway stayovers. Linn |

01 Oct 05 - 01:38 PM (#1573502) Subject: RE: BS: Curmudgeon Survives Another Birthday From: JennyO Happy birthday Tom! You might like to try the after-birthday here. Giok has this theory about freezing it, so that if you lose it in an accident, you can clone it later. I figure if you keep cloning your birthday, you will stay the same age indefinitely - and if you clone it more often than once a year, we can keep Joe Offer very very busy :-) |

01 Oct 05 - 03:03 PM (#1573569) Subject: RE: BS: Curmudgeon Survives Another Birthday From: gnu Awwww... I gave Cheucie her insulin every morning for over two years. Odd how they get used to it and seem to know you are doing it for them and that you dislike it too. I miss her by times. She was a lady, that one. Give Mort a good scratch for me. |
