Singer/Songwriter, bluesman, raconteur and forward-carrier of importance, Roy Book Binder was born 10-05-1943 in New York City. [thanx Doug Henkle] The otherly-named Roy officially became Roy Book Binder in 1978. He remains so to date and fully intends to continue in this condition. I don't know why the change - perhaps simply a preference; perhaps to avoid spelling his name to others daily; (I have to do that several times daily, myself) perhaps because even though he is currently resident in Florida, he doesn't serve frog's legs or exotic sea food. In 1998 Roy was offered a large scale TV commercial using his song, "Anywhere You Go." He says that if they'd offered that to him in his 20's he'd have refused with great indignation; but now - approaching his 60's - he simply asked, "How much?"
