My 82 year old dad is still lamenting the fact that he lost an old album named something like: "Sally Terry (Terri?)Sings America's Favorite Folks Songs". I remember our family playing this album constantly when I was a kid (1950-1960's). The album contained the classics such as "Erie Canal", "Shenandoah", etc. Ms. Terry had a beautiful voice and somebody did some very fancy whistling on a number of songs, as well. I'd love to track down this disk - or at least some information about Sally. I've been hacking away for about an hour now and just came across this site. Do any of you folk afficianados know anything of this great, old record?? If so, I would really appreciate an e-mail to the above address. Thanks!

SONGS OF THE AMERICAN LAND, Capitol (S)P8522 contains "Eire Canal", "'Cross the Wide Missouri [Shenendoah]" among others sung by Sally Terri. I'm guessing it dates to late 1950s, early '60s. I do not have this album; I took the info from another of her Capitol records. My guess is that you'll have to hunt used record stores or thrift shops...you'll be surprised at the occasional gems found there. Good luck!
