I have it on a Bessie Smith LP and on a Marie Muldaur(sp.)

Squeeze Me
by Fats Waller

Daddy, you been doggone sweet on me.
Daddy, you the only one I see.
I need no one but you cause you my man.
You love me like no one can.
Somethin' 'bout you I can't resist.
When you kiss me, I stay kissed.
Oh Daddy, squeeze me, squeeze me and then,
Don't stop 'til I tell you when.
Come on, Daddy, kiss me some more,
Just like you did before.
Your Papa Cupid's standin' close by.
Don't let sweet Baby cry.
Just pick me up-oh Babe- on your knee
I just get so, you know, when you squeeze me.
I just get so, you know, when you squeeze me.

Some sources, but not all, credit Clarence Williams with co-writing "Squeeze Me". I am finding both 1919 and 1923 as dates for the song. Perhaps 1919 was when he wrote it, and 1923 was when he published it.

Otillie Patterson did a great version with Chris Barber's band. I have the Waller piano roll but it's a tricky tempo to sing along with....though I try!

Remember seeing & hearing Otillie doing this one, Where did that voice come from out of such a small lady?
Find to my amazement that I dont have it on any of my Fats CD's.
