Review: Female Percussanist - Film

There is a recently released film (September 2005, USA)(obviously limited distribution)about a female percussionist.

I believe it is her life story - as she records sounds, dischords, tembre, tone, resonance, sustainment etc.....on a multiple plethora of pounding plates.

Please advise: The woman's name, and even the film title wound be most helpful.

Sincerely,
Gargoyle

Is it Touch the Sound, about Evelyn Glennie, who is deaf? It's an independent documentary, the home web site is in German, released in 2004, but just now making it to the U.S.

This director also did Rivers and Tides, a documentary about artist Andy Goldsworthy.

Here's an NPR report.

I'm looking forward to it's getting to Tucson, hopefully on screen, not just DVD.

THANK YOU!!!

This is precisely the information I was looking for. I only caught a quick sound-byte on the radio and had been able to locate anything.

Sincerely,
Gargoyle

Nice set of links and then more links.
