Calling himself The Golden Voice of the Great Southwest, he has served as master of ceremonies at many events, including the Kate Wolf Memorial Festival. He has performed with many other musicians, including Rosalie Sorrells, and a group called Rose Tatoo, some of whom are mud catters...perhaps we will hear more from them?? |

02 Nov 05 - 09:29 PM (#1596117) Subject: RE: Utah Phillips, Dec.3, 2005, Chico, Calif From: open mike I was going through the Utah recordings I have and found some wonderful performers who have "covered" his songs, including Kate Wolf, Jody Stecher and Kate Brislin, Faith Petric, Special Concensus (blue grass band) and Rosalie Sorrels, both from recent recordings, and a treasure from Folk Legacy records from 1967. He is a true believer in independant radio, and I am happy to have a station I.D. from him where he proclaims that we should take back the airwaves!! If you can come or encourage someone you know to do so, that would be great!! We will be having him come to Chico in one month. Laurel |
