(Only a week behind schedule? That's almost something to be proud of.) Most of you will not have heard of John Doyle but I know there are many of you who will find this well worth reading. For twenty-odd years now I have read, watched and listened to his work and it has usually been a rewarding experience. A couple of nights ago he gave the tenth annual Andrew Olle Memorial Media Lecture and last night it was broadcast on TV. Here is the transcript. I thought I'd share it with you as I know a lot of you would appreciate his humour and incisiveness. It's long but it's worthwhile. |
