22 Oct 05 - 11:51 PM (#1588796) Subject: BS: KBR/Halliburton = human trafficing From: dianavan Today I read a disturbing story about KBR employees that had been killed by insurgents on Sept. 20th. Why do you think it took so long to report their deaths? What else was happening around that time? I also looked at the Halliburton Watch web page and found this disturbing story: http://www.halliburtonwatch.org/news/katrina3.html Not only are they importing labour into Iraq (why don't they use Iraqis?) they are using illegal immigrants in New Orleans. Why are your tax dollars supporting Halliburton/KBR when they can't even provide decent food and clean water for their minimum wage employees? |

23 Oct 05 - 03:12 PM (#1589120) Subject: RE: BS: KBR/Halliburton = human trafficing From: Ebbie No, I don't suppose I'm surprised. However, it seems to be a new thing that if you're big enough you no longer have to even try to hide what you are doing. The populace will accept it all. |

23 Oct 05 - 03:24 PM (#1589132) Subject: RE: BS: KBR/Halliburton = human trafficing From: Ebbie You suppose that the reason that so many people remain loyal to the Powers is that somewhere deep inside they recognize that there is no choice and thus prefer to pretend that it is their CHOICE rather than having developments thrust on them? (Do you follow that sentence? I am not sure that I do.) |

23 Oct 05 - 04:54 PM (#1589171) Subject: RE: BS: KBR/Halliburton = human trafficing From: Peace That's as good a reason as any, Eb. We are being conditioned (read, people have been being conditioned) and it seems to be working. TV has made us stupid. The human race has been in-breeding for either 6000 years or 50,000 years--depending on who ya ask. I think we're getting stupider. |

Hmmm- ya think the fact they've been cutting education funding since the Reagan administration has anything to do with it? And do ya think this is an accident? Stupidity + apathy = the government that the U.S. deserves. Deal with it. |

23 Oct 05 - 06:46 PM (#1589255) Subject: RE: BS: KBR/Halliburton = human trafficing From: Ebbie Kind of 'I don't know and I don't care', I guess. There's got to be a better answer than that. We have to find it. (I realize that speaks more of ignorance than of stupidity- but only on the surface. Ignoring our problems and the future we are creating is STOOPID.) Question: When the various empires of history over-shot their peak and started free falling down the other side, do you suppose there were people crying out in alarm? Did history record such warnings? |

23 Oct 05 - 06:57 PM (#1589260) Subject: RE: BS: KBR/Halliburton = human trafficing From: Peace Ignorance is a state of mind located between 'I don't know and I don't care'. Only smart expression I ever made up. Hell, Eb, we are virtually ignoring the coming dark age when oil becomes scarce. Pretending it won't happen. Elephant in the livingroom and no one sees it. People have always warned that civilizations are coming to an end. Look at what Hitler did to folks who warned him. They went bye-bye. As the Roman Empire began to crumble, the leadership went on with 'business as usual'. Hell, I heard from a student a few days ago that the easiest way to kill an ostrich is to scare it while it's standing on a cement pad. |
