26 Oct 05 - 01:46 PM (#1590966) Subject: RE: You slipped thru my fingers just like From: Ferrara The funny thing is that there are so few lyrics, really. I remember singing this over and over, learned it off the radio. (Didn't learn the part in the middle, though, have no idea what is the tune.) It's a good, memorable tune and lyrics. But there really isn't much to it, is there? |

He also wrote (or co-wrote) 'It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year';'Marching Along together'; 'I Didn't Slip, I Wasn't Pushed, I Fell';'I Ain't Got the Gal'; Riddle De Diddle De Day; Sleep My Baby Sleep ; Wyoming |

27 Oct 05 - 07:37 PM (#1592076) Subject: Lyr Add: QUICKSILVER (Pola, Taylor, Wyle) From: Jim Dixon Might as well have it here, don't you think? Lyrics copied from http://lyricsplayground.com/alpha/songs/q/quicksilver.shtml QUICKSILVER (Edward Pola / Irving Taylor / George Wyle) Bing Crosby & The Andrews Sisters - 1949 Doris Day & The Country Cousins - 1949 Dick Haymes - 1949 Also recorded by: Elton Britt; Dolores Gray. You're as hard to hold as quicksilver When you kiss and run away I dream you're mine and then as quick as quicksilver All my dreams are led astray I keep chasing you till I'm facing you And embracing you with all your charms Then you slip through my fingers just like quicksilver Right into someone else's arms Seems like I am havin' trouble with you And I don't know what I'm gonna do Seems like you're fickle, fickle as can be And your fickle ways have got me up a tree You're as hard to hold as quicksilver When you kiss and run away I dream you're mine and then as quick as quicksilver All my dreams are led astray I keep chasing you till I'm facing you And embracing you with all your charms Then you slip through my fingers just like quicksilver Right into someone else's arms Then you slip through my fingers just like quicksilver Right into someone else's arms |
