I'm contemplating going to the Clarence at Blackpool on Dec 7th to see Pint and Dale. Anyone know the venue? Anyone else going? May stop over so I can have a pint ('scuse the pun) myself:-)

Cheers

Good choice to go, Dave. They produce fine music and they're nice folks, too.

I know, Dave - I have liked them since I first saw them at Fylde a few years ago. Do some cracking stuff and, being the strange kind of gnome I am, I actualy like the hurdy gurdy:-) I was wondering more if anyone knew the venue - Is it good for live music for instance?

Cheers

The Clarence is on the way into Blackpool from the M55 Junction 4.
Beware the speed cameras on the way into Blackpool and on the way out. There are at three or four in each direction!

Excellent pint of Thwaites Bitter or Lancaster Bomber at the bar.

Best seats are in the compact end section, so get there in good time.

I highly recommend this duo. BTW it is Pin - t not pine - t.

Thanks Henry - I travel Preston New Road regularly and see the flashes made by people who don't know it quite so well:-) Thanks for the advice on seating and beer - I think I will take a B&B for the night if the Lancaster Bomber is on form:-) One of my daughters lives quite nearby but her flat doesn't have room to take a snoring old folkie:-(

I remember them both making a joke of Williams name, Billy - Felicia saying if he was going to call himself pin-t she was going to be Dall-y:-)

Anyone remember the English guy that toured with them for a while. I am sure he used to be a sub-mariner at one time and, no, it wasn't Cyril! I am sure he is well known but I can't remember his name...

Thanks again for the input.

Cheers

Dave,
Not certain, but it may have been Tom Lewis.

Suffering too many 'senior moments' these days.

Quite right Vic

It was "Lewis Pint & Dale" as I recall.

I hear there is always a friendly welcome at the Clarence.
