Hello all,

Spiers & Boden have a gig at Oxford's prestigious Jericho Tavern on the 15th of November as a late addition to their current tour.

Tickets for this gig are now available from the Spiers and Boden website here: http://www.squeezy.fsnet.co.uk/spiers_boden/jericho.html and are priced at £8 in advance and £10 on the door. Tickets are also available from the Music Room in Oxford.

All the best,

Kate.

Times must be tough now the festival season is over, reduced to singing in folk clubs already; whatever next?

Ok Traditionalist, fiddle bows at dawn is it? Put your comments behind an identifiable name and I might be prepared to listen....otherwise it is just sour grapes.......drink vinegar if it makes you happy.

"Jericho Tavern is legendary amongst Oxford's music scene, having seen the early days of Supergrass and Radiohead."

Funny sort of folk club, if you ask me.

Do not confuse with the Oxford Folk Club at the Port Mahon.

The Jericho has got a distinguished folk history, Ibelieve. Now, first of all I need to add the usual qualifications about remembering things that happened in the 60's. having said that, my recollection of the Oxford Univerity's Heritage Society(folk club), and its peregrinations round pubs, is that when we moved from Gloucester Green to Jericho(area) there was a brief period at the Jericho(pub), as well as the longer time at the Bakers. Possibly the Jericho(pub) time was in the middle of the Bakers era...perhaps the Bakers function room closed for refurbisment or something?
Trouble is I was drinking enough beer in those days to make it remarkably difficult to remember which pub I was in.

Thanks Lizzie, much apreciated!

and thanks too Greg, we heard whispers of a folk history at the Jericho, glad they're true!

All the best,

Kate.

They're playing a good set, but watch out for their audiences . . . there's some strange types about!
