Tech: Problems with abc2Win with XP

Anyone use abc2win with Windows XP? I can't get abc2win to read all my old abc tunes since I got a new PC with XP installed. Any help would be appreciated, or suggestions for a different abc program. Thanks, Mal.

Aviod abc2win it's a bit non standard. Try the Java based Skink as an alternative.

I have abc2win 2.1i and it reads files under XP/Pro and Edit 1 seems fine too. I can use Draw 1 to display the tune, but the View (music page) function doesn't seem to work.

(I don't use the program anymore - I use abcm2ps for viewing/printing tunes, and abc2midi when I need to generate midi).

I am glad I am not the only one having problems with ABC2win and XP. I have ABC2win version 2.2 Beta 5 which does not seem to want to edit tunes or write new ones. I have downloaded Skink as Guest Jon suggested, but it does not edit. Any suggestions?

I'm not quite sure what you mean. Perhaps you are looking to see changes as you type them - try Display/Continuous.

(I use Skink but also the programs MCP does BTW)
