The one about the escapees from a American Civil War prison camp whose balloon crashes on the island. They battle a giant crab and end up tipping it into a fumarole, which cooks it. Giant crab feast follows. A real treat for this Maryland boy. From the story (book?) by Jules Verne. |

However there is also "When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth" (1970) which has several giant crabs attacking cave people on a beach before a tidal wave arrives. |
