Just in case you wanted to know - someone has run tests on the effectiveness of aluminum helmets. My brother Ironmule sent me the link. Of course it makes me wonder why he was looking for it in the first place....

I figured the folks over at the Hacked Satellites thread would want to know.

Wonderful stuff but they missed the most obvious Pyramid shaped helmet.

Well, in my mind, the homemade aluminum foil cranium cover (AFCC) versus star wars technology is the equivalent of herbal treatment versus the medical establishment. It's cheap and fast, and works about as well as t'other. Can't hurt, now can it.

I prefer an aluminium foil cranium cover(AFCC) myself.

Wow. That one is scary. It looks to me like it has an antenna- who knows what scary thing it would bring in! Don't be fooled by the grin. It is an involuntary response to incoming stimuli.

FWIW, the "media center" that is the reported departmental home of 3 of the 4 "researchers" encompasses what at most comparable institutions what would be called the "Art Department." At this particular institution that's sometimes where people go to "not think critically all the time."

Of course you all knew that.

I do not doubt for an instant that the tests were run and the results were reported "factually."

EBarnacle, in my experience it depends on whether you're trying to transmit information or repelling it.
