Abby!, you must have felt a bit ?happy? to stick to your happy!/happy? definition in this particular case. But I like the song though.

:-) I sing the song (usually pretty much the Pete Seeger mixed version and hoping that any Spanish speakers hearing are generous on hearing my accent) regularly. I much enjoy calling brightly to the crowd, Happy Francisco Franco's Birthday! Most just stare dully but a few develop wonderful outraged expressions. But, as you say, the song should speak for itself and I've been neither tarred nor feathered yet.
