05 Dec 05 - 10:49 AM (#1620424) Subject: Present Idea for Whistle Players From: black walnut The guy who made my wonderful beautiful new 'Beatrice' lap harp - Tat Stanley (Kingston Ontario Canada) has made some great little under $10 (CAN) tin whistles for the Christmas tree. They really (sort of) play! You can find the jolly fellow here: a href="http://www.stanleyharp.on.ca/">STANLEY HARPS AND WHISTLES ~b.w. |

06 Dec 05 - 01:57 PM (#1621338) Subject: RE: Present Idea for Whistle Players From: Les in Chorlton What would be an appropriate present for a whistle player? Perhaps another whistle player? or maybe a great big amplifier to get over the melodeons in sessions (no disrespect intended). |

06 Dec 05 - 04:20 PM (#1621446) Subject: RE: Present Idea for Whistle Players From: black walnut Well I know that there aren't any whistle on the website. Just harps, right? But the website gives you Tat's email address and all that stuff. Tat took some of the whistles he'd made to the "One of a Kind Craft Show" in Toronto, and I bought a few for friends. They were under $10, and pretty to hang on a Christmas tree, or above the kitchen sink, or from the car mirror (nicer than a pine tree deodorizer any day). I know....when I get a free minute or two or three....I'll take a photo of one of mine and pop it onto my Flickr site. Not tonight, I have a meeting. But maybe tomorrow, okay? STAY TUNED!!! ~B.W. |

09 Dec 05 - 11:15 AM (#1623586) Subject: RE: Present Idea for Whistle Players From: black walnut Good point! Especially on a day like today (if you're in Ontario)! I've got the photos in my digital. I tried to transfer them but it didn't work. Blame the house renovation...we've moved the computer and NOTHING is the same anywhere. Nothing can be found. Nothing works. So you'll have to trust me on this one. If you want an inexpensive little very nice present from a good guy from Kingston Ontario, ask him to send you a few of his whistle decorations, and tell him debbie the little harp player sent you. (I'm not little...the harp is!). ~b.w. |
