Jean Ritchie was born 12/8/1922 Now, she reads here and I'm not out to embarrass the lady. But I also just don't have enough superlatives to express my admiration. Source singer, scholar, teacher, writer, 'Than Hall, collector, traveller, movie actress (at least 3 of them) and Good Person. I've watched the dopey movie "Next of Kin" four times on television now just waiting for the music-on-the-porch scene and they've cut it each time. And I've still never taken a gun to the television.
