From: GUEST,Keef (From OZ) Wondering if any of you wonderful mudcat folk can help out my son who is off on his first working holiday in UK. He was perhaps unwise to arrive in mid December and has been staying in stinky backpacker hostels from London to Scotland and is now enjoying some underwhelming hospitality from relatives in Hull. Having read many interesting opinions of this sun blessed city of the North I think he could use a little help to find its more attractive side. My lad is 23 years old, intelligent like his dad and tho born and bred in Oz he is not an uncouth ocker and doesn't feel at home in Earls Court. Anybody willing to take him out for a beer and show him where to get good fish and chips etc, please PM me. Thanks Keef |

27 Dec 05 - 12:44 AM (#1635256) Subject: RE: BS: Lost in Hull From: Joe Offer Glad to hear the situation in Hull is not so serious. I cancelled the obituary and moved the thread to the "BS" section (and deleted your second thread). I found lots of interesting things in Hull - museums, a lightship, a celebrated loo, and fish on the sidewalks that tell you where to go. Nice people, too - and one helluva big bridge. I'm sure others will give you more tips. -Joe Offer- |

27 Dec 05 - 04:58 AM (#1635299) Subject: RE: BS: Lost in Hull From: Keef I would have to say that folk music is not quite his thing (nor mine at his age) however he gets along best with folk that have a brain, and that's why I trust in Mudcat! Keef |
