29 Dec 05 - 03:36 PM (#1636849) Subject: Dan McKinnon concert/CBC+Streaming audio From: GUEST,Nancy V Hello Folks and Folkies, Dan McKinnon's CD Release Concert for his most recent CD "Fields of Dreams and Glory", was recorded by CBC Radio's Atlantic Airwaves and will be broadcast on New Year's Eve from 5:00 to 6:00 pm Atlantic Standard Time - 9:00 to 10:00 pm in England and 4:00 to 5:00 pm Eastern Time. On the radio it will be heard locally in Atlantic Canada on 90.5 FM. However, it can also be found on the internet in streaming audio. Simply go to CBC's Atlantic Airwaves and then on to the right side where you will see under Media "CBC Radio One Halifax" and there you are. This concert features selections from Dan's latest CD "Fields of Dreams and Glory", along with some of Dan's earlier songs. Dan is on guitar as well as vocals, along with special guests: Anthony Risessco on fiddle; John Chiasson on Bass; and Paul Mills, aka Curly Boy Stubbs on guitars. I hear last year was quite nice and warm, sunburn weather, but when you're in Canso it's on a spit of land out in the Atlantic and is usually quite cold, foggy, rainy and windy. (When I was there they had to cancel a session with Archie Fisher because the iron poles in the tent where the session was were bending so much the organizers were afraid they might break.)
