The backs gone on me Parker-Knoll

No, not that well known 9 stringed bass banjo-citern but that reclining chair that enables me to fall asleep whilst playing tunes or singing, come on, we all do it.

Anybody know a P-K engineer who can help me get the chair up to vertical?

Yes I know it's not exactly folk related but it is New Years Eve and I know some folks enjoy a real challenge.

And *I* thought it was the title of a song ! (Sorry !) But, anyway, how's about having a collective go. I'll start:

Oh, the back's gone on me Parker-Knoll,
Sing fol de diddle dee
And me poor head has nowhere to loll,
The rock's gone out of me rock n'roll
Sing fol de diddle daddle
Sing fol de diddle deeee

Anyone ready with the next verse ?

- Rambling Syd Jeanie (Happy New Year, by the way - and I do hope you get it fixed)

Thanks for entering into the spirit but the back has actually gone on me P-K. Not entirley, but it always seems to be one notch down from vertical. Now their is a metaphore if ever I saw one.

Are P-Ks made in the UK anymore?

Sorry, Les, I wasn't making light of the problem, just having a bit of musical fun (as this *is* in the music section). I've just typed "Parker-Knoll" into Google and found that they are still making the furniture. If you then type in a sub-search "repairs", you will find lots of companies who specifically state that they repair Parker-Knolls, including the frames. There was a company in Staffordshire, for instance, called "Imperial Upholstery". I'm sure you will find a repairer near to where you live if you do a bit of googling.

All the best,
- jeanie

"Me back is all gone and I can't get no more,
Singin' Row, boys, row...."

Thanks Jeanie that's very kind.

OK now time for a P-K repairing Shanty:

Oh, the back has gone on me Parker-Knoll
Away to Hilo
Oh, the head rest's gone on me Parker-Knoll
Chair's gone to Hilo

Hi Les.
I'd be happy to upholster your Parker Knoll but alas I am across the Pond!
You can visit Parker Knoll's website and contact them for upholsters in your area here: PK website
I LOVE my PK chairs. One of the first things I bought when I moved across to Maine. Nothing better than to sit inmy Fav Chair and play a tune. We always had them at me Ma's and the chairs and Sofa were re sprung and covered many times over the Years by my Uncle, Sonny (who just happened to be....an Upholsterer!) Hope you get your PK back in shape soon:>)
The PK shanties are shaping up too...lol

Since first I saw the title of this thread, the tune that come into my head was RT's "Don't sit on my Jimmy Shands". Discuss!
