Followers of English ceilidh music may be interested to know that the Bismarcks have just announced on the BBC Folk & Acoustic message board that they are going to retire this year.

As was noted by the UK media yesterday, the 23rd Jan was officially the most depressing day in the year.
They were referring, of course, to post Xmas/Credit card bills. etc...
But, for me, the Bizzies folding???
Bugger, is the only word I can think of.
I would urge that anyone who can get to see them for a final time should do so.
For you guys across whichever pond you come from....If you're planning a trip to the UK this summer...check out the Bismarcks website, and base your trip around catching them before it's too late.

English music at it's best.
No argument
Regards Ralphie

How very sad. Great dance music and one of the ceilidh few bands for which you didn't need earplugs.
