it is on this album...AFTER AWHILE, 1991, Elektra Nonesuch 61148

here is what i got from a small portion of hte song
that was on a web site...there are several places
where the entire song or album can be down loaded.

These Blues

I got lucky and I woke up in jail
There is none so blind
As he who will not see
And it's easy to see
I could not see that was me
When he washed ashore
the drunken sailor was
adrift in the city (night?)
YOu better believe in the morning
my burden was light

good luck finding the rest.

Still no luck finding the full tune. Refreshing this thread in case some one comes on with added information.

I've listened to several sound samples and I can now expand our quote to two verses:

Ever'thing I ever needed was on the shelf.
Spent all o' my time feelin' sorry for myself.
I was driftin' an' dreamin' an' waitin' an' watchin' for a ship with a silver sail,
But I got lucky and I woke up in jail.

There is none so blind as he who will not see,
And it's easy to see I could not see that was me.
When he washed ashore, the drunken sailor was adrift in the city night
An' you'd better believe in the mornin' my burden was light.

Got the first verse.

When I get these blues,
I just look back down that road.
It's been awhile since I laid down that load.
These blues ain't nothing
Like these blues I had,
Like before I paid a little debt I owed.
When I get these blues,
I just look back down that road.

I think there maybe one more verse.

Here's the last verse:

Well I don't know where I'm goin', but I know where I've been
And there ain't no need to ever go back again
And my very worst days are so much better than the best I knew back then
And I thank the lord that a loser can sometimes win
Yeah I thank the lord that a loser can sometimes win
