13 Feb 06 - 04:08 PM (#1667503) Subject: RE: BS: The Outing of the Secret Santas 2006 From: Dave Earl On behalf of my other half, known hereabouts as Lady Elizabeth, I have to say that the US mail doesn't seem up to much. Her Santa said that the pressie had been posted but it hasn't appeared yet. Not complaining about Santa just the Postal service. Dave |

13 Feb 06 - 04:08 PM (#1667504) Subject: RE: BS: The Outing of the Secret Santas 2006 From: Bat Goddess Curmudgeon tried to trace the package to Rumanci that was sent out (air mail) at the same time as the one to Leadfingers. Leadfingers got his in about a week, I think. Poor Rumanci's still waiting! All the post office would say is it probably got sent surface mail accidently -- in which case they'll refund the extra bucks we paid to send it air mail. I just wish it would finally get to Rumanci!!! Linn |

13 Feb 06 - 10:23 PM (#1667841) Subject: RE: BS: The Outing of the Secret Santas 2006 From: JennyO Yes Dave - Carole and Andrew - nice people! If you see them again, say hello for me. I think they were still waiting for their pressies too, last I heard. We have a growing list of 'catters who've had the Earlwood barbeque experience. I wish there could be more! Anyone who comes in the next 3 months or so will probably get the best of our weather. It will be autumn - not so hot, and seems more stable than our spring. Two good festivals in April too! El Greko and Cloudstreet will be here, and performing at my folk club. I feel very lucky! Jenny |

14 Feb 06 - 02:19 AM (#1667920) Subject: RE: BS: The Outing of the Secret Santas 2006 From: Elmer Fudd Thank you, ever-gracious LTS, for making all this good fun possible. My SS, the magnificentest, the Nouveau-est of El Punkoids, was super-duper: a bearer of good tidings and great things to listen to and savour. My Santee was less fortunate: his prezzie made it across two continents and a rather large body of water, only to be spit out by his postal system and sent packing wee-wee-wee-wee-wee-wee allllllll the way home to sender. I hope you've gotten it safe and sound on the second try, Robbie. I gave it an extra-hard shove this time around. Elmer |

14 Feb 06 - 07:24 AM (#1668020) Subject: RE: BS: The Outing of the Secret Santas 2006 From: Sandra in Sydney makes ya wonder what the various postal service do, doesn't it? Does each postal service hire extra staff to create confusion - pick up 6 parcels, keep 1 that looks interesting, send 1 by air, 1 by sea, hide 1 for sending later (maybe), send 1 to the wrong city or country, jump on 1, repeat with next lot ... sandra |

Never seen her on the threads or met her as far as I know. Which continent is she on? We were fortunate, mine, RAT-W's and ShadyLady's parcels to secret santees all arrived within a week as far as I can tell, both to the US and Australia. Love Lynne |

They throw Those marked "Fragile" Underhand rather than Overhand like ALL others!!! |

14 Feb 06 - 05:57 PM (#1668560) Subject: RE: BS: The Outing of the Secret Santas 2006 From: Liz the Squeak And there was me imagining all those Santas whipping off their beards to show huge moustaches, removing their red robes and revealing skin tight leather shorts with chains and studs, and all singing hits from 'Copacabana'..... She's been a Mudcatter for many years and has gone to the Getaway for some of those. Neat lady, she is.:-) EmmaB, it's been crazy busy the past two months. I loved Round Ireland with a Frig. Started the Mother Tongue, last night and couldn't put it down! Had me up until 2a and now here I am, awake at 435a! Saving Mapp and Lucia for last. Thanks, again!! I wonder how much Homeland (IN)Security has to do with the delays? |
