26 Feb 06 - 08:09 PM (#1679823) Subject: International Women's Day Concert From: Glynis 'WomenFolk: A Concert for International Women's Day' is on at the Sage Gateshead on Friday 10 March, featuring two well-respected women singers, Sandra Kerr and Chris Coe. The concert also features Wercas Folk, the women's choir directed by Sandra and the new girl-band 'Sirens'with Shona Mooney, the Borders fiddle player who recently became BBC Young Traditional Scottish Musician of the Year. Also playing are 'Flash Company', the women fiddle players currently studying on the University of Newcastle Folk Degree, as well as recent graduates. Seriously,so many things happen on IWD itself, that this concert is timed so it doesn't clash and enables people to go to more than one thing. Events usually spill out over the week, so I hope I can be forgiven. It should be a great concert and a good night.
