Believe that Stephen Duffy was a one time member of Duran Duran.
Am I right in assuming that "Acid Folk" is a meaningless journalistic subcategory?
(Loved the sleeve design though)

Yes Stephen Duffy was a founder member of Duran Duran, but left in 1979 before they were signed. Better remembered as Stephen "Tin-Tin" Duffy.

No, Stewie can describe just what "Acid Folk" is - he produced a fabulous "workshop presentation-cum-themed concert" for the 1987 National Folk Festival in Australia (held in the red centre at Alice Springs!)

But for more on this kind of "strange folk" type of music - checkout :

or just put "wyrd folk" into your search engine - it's a huge folk sub-culture!!

oh, and I think this could also be related to "The Wicker Man" music too ... currently the subject of some thread discussion!!

Also check out "woven wheat whispers" - the sister site to "the unbroken circle" - where you can legally download lots of interesting folk music ...

- but both sites are worthy of investigation!

Many of we "older" folkies :~))) worry and wonder where the next generations of "folkies" are : sites like these two could well be a big part of the answer!!
Just a thought ...

PS    "Acid Folk" is a term I'd always associated with "The Holy Modal Rounders", but I think the genre has evolved (transmogrified?!) just a little since those 60s daze!!!

Thanks for the links R-J,I think I'm getting the flavour of it.
I wouldn't worry about the next generation,I'm sure they'll be along when they're ready.
