From: The Fooles Troupe The trouble you see, is that once I misread a thread title, very often the resultant thought processes will just not quiet down... so I am now moved to ponder "Are all women better in shorts than men?" |

02 Mar 06 - 07:34 PM (#1683702) Subject: RE: BS: Are all women better in shorts than men? From: The Fooles Troupe I once had a pair of jeans type shorts, which due to putting on weight (no! not the shorts!), would no longer fit me. I asked a friend if she would have them and she said "Goody! I've been trying to get in your pants for years!" |

02 Mar 06 - 10:00 PM (#1683829) Subject: RE: BS: Are all women better in shorts than men? From: Bobert The operative word in the thread title is "all women"... Now back in Wes Ginny still lives my couzin Rufus and his lovely wife Retha May who live at the end of Mission holler in half a double wide... Now, bless Retha's mountain womanz heart but she lost her girlish figure before she was born... Her mama, who was Timpkin womanz from out 'round Papa, Wes Ginny had given ceasarain birth to Retha and, well, lets just say that Retha came into this world as a 26 pounder... Now ol' Bobert ain't got nuthin' against, ahhhhh, big womenz 'cept there a few who the mumu was invented fir and that is Retha May... (But, Bobert, the question was about women looking better in shorts than men...) Okay, I'd like to qualify my answer but I need a clarificationon the question, First, is Retha May in the "all women" category and, second, are yopu askin' if they would look better without the shorts... You know, like nakeeed??? (Yo, Bobert.... This is a trick question...) Nvermind... Bobert |

03 Mar 06 - 08:10 AM (#1684249) Subject: RE: BS: Are all women better in shorts than men? From: jacqui.c Depends on the person. I can think of quite a few men I love seeing in shorts, quite starts the heart a-thumping. There are others that should really stay home.... And as for women - last year we were in a Chinese buffet restaurant and in came the vision in pink - must have been 300lbs of her, bulges everywhere, in a halter neck top and shorts, all BRIGHT PINK. Quite put us off our food! She was sat in the next booth to us and was very distracting. I think she was one for one of Bobert's mumus, for sure. |

03 Mar 06 - 02:04 PM (#1684465) Subject: RE: BS: Are all women better in shorts than men? From: LilyFestre I have to say that I find Bobert's and Jacqui's posts offensive. I think it's great that large sized men and women wear what makes THEM comfortable. I am a large woman and I wear exactly what makes me comfortable. I don't see how this becomes a problem for anyone else. When it's cold, I wear turtlenecks, sweaters, coats, etc. When it's hot, I wear shorts and short sleeved tops. If I'm at the pool, you can bet I'll be in a swimsuit...and why shouldn't I (or any other person of any size) be? People come in all sizes, shapes, and colors...get over it! Michelle |

Sorry, Michelle... I loves you just the way you are.... Really... Bobert |

05 Mar 06 - 02:20 PM (#1685760) Subject: RE: BS: Are all women better in shorts than men? From: Stilly River Sage Depends. If one looks at situations where men and women are found to be wearing identical garments and are compared then you might find the answer is "no." In that they can both look good (though it isn't reasonable to ask if *all* of any particular group can meet such a standard.) I'm thinking in particular of the local UPS (United Parcel Service) drivers. They wear shorts a lot of the time, are always running, and always seem to be in great shape. All of their drivers seem to be equally attractive to look at in their brown shorts, male or female. SRS |

05 Mar 06 - 08:07 PM (#1686035) Subject: RE: BS: Are all women better in shorts than men? From: The Fooles Troupe Michael - there was a book I think it was "the clam plate orgy" which included pictures showing that advertising for many things, including for Scotch, had subtly had pictures of writhing naked orgiastic figures cleverly added so that if you looked at it just the right way, your subconscious would reveal them. This was long before the abilty to do such things on computers existed, at least affordably on PCs. |

06 Mar 06 - 01:54 PM (#1686547) Subject: RE: BS: Are all women better in shorts than men? From: Richard Bridge Please: "hoi polloi" means "the peasants" (or "the proletarians" if you prefer). "The hoi polloi" conveys that the speaker or writer knows nothing about the greek language or thought he purports to adopt. |
|
06 Mar 06 - 01:59 PM (#1686551) Subject: RE: BS: Are all women better in shorts than men? From: Peace "Hoi polloi is Greek for "the common people," but it is often misused to mean "the upper class" (does "hoi" make speakers think of "high" or "hoity-toity"?). Some urge that since "hoi" is the article "the hoi polloi" is redundant; but the general rule is that articles such as "the" and "a" in foreign language phrases cease to function as such in place names, brands, and catch phrases except for some of the most familiar ones in French and Spanish, where everyone recognizes "la"—for instance—as meaning "the." "The El Nino" is redundant, but "the hoi polloi" is standard English." From a dictionary on the net. |
