20 Mar 06 - 03:44 PM (#1698943) Subject: RE: BS: Thisssssssssssss is hilarious! From: Kaleea I sure laughed at that! Whilst in college, I had no tv for @1 1/2 years, so I watched my kitties doing quite similar hijinks for entertainment. I have seen my own Kitty in the bathtub, kitty boxing with black lab, kitty clobbering young boy (cat had no claws), & things that lead me to believe cats inspired the song, "Wild Thing." |

How a person can not like cats is truly beyond me. :-) And my bet on the kitty walking on front paws only would be a couple of well-placed pieces of tape... |

21 Mar 06 - 11:16 AM (#1699299) Subject: RE: BS: Thisssssssssssss is hilarious! From: Grab Becca, what they do in other people's gardens is enough reason. Actually, I like all animals, including cats. But I hate and despise anyone who owns a cat without either (a) having an acre or so of their own land for it to roam in, (b) keeping it exclusively indoors or in their own garden (requiring their constant presence to ensure it doesn't get out), or (c) taking it for a walk on a lead and scooping the poop. So far, I know of precisely one cat owner in our neighbourhood who meets option (b) - and upwards of a dozen local cats, who come round and shit in everyone else's gardens. Surprise surprise, most of those people live in flats, so they don't have to worry about it. Graham. |

21 Mar 06 - 02:46 PM (#1699500) Subject: RE: BS: Thisssssssssssss is hilarious! From: Becca72 Graham, I agree that it irresponsible cat ownership to let them roam. Mine have always been and will always be exclusively indoor cats, simply for the fact that it's safest for them. It would be the exact same thing as letting your dog out without a lead...just because you think he'll stay in the yard doesn't mean you can guarantee it. These precious little creatures depend on us having a brain in our heads to care for them, and we owe them that much for the privilege of their company. |

21 Mar 06 - 05:43 PM (#1699650) Subject: RE: BS: Thisssssssssssss is hilarious! From: Liz the Squeak My aunt feeds and looks after several feral cats in her village. Each one is microchipped and most are neutered, but they are all wild. Food is put in certain spots for them, but they don't always come and they certainly don't all thrive on the amount she feeds them - they suppliment their diet with local fauna - no bad thing in a farming community. I bet they wouldn't bat an eyelid at the bear either! LTS |
