BB King ah yes I remember seeing him supporting Eric Clapton live back in about 1980 in Amsterdam. It was an excellent evening.

BB has spent most of his long life on the road, for many years playing 300+ gigs, most of 'em one-nighters. He is well up in age, and famously diabetic ~ here in the states, he is prominently featured in TV commercials for a blood-sugar testing device.

So, whether or not he has announced that he won't be coming back to your area (as he apparently has in regard to the UK), any opportunity to attend one of his concerts could, quite conceivaby, be your last chance.

As long as he keeps at it, despite his health problems, etc., he still can play and sing as well as ever, so ~ enjoy!

Adam, I wanted to go myself but I'm on a night shift on Wednesday. Say hello to him and Lucille for me.

You should expect a great show. BB is great and so is his band. He is also a gentleman and allows everybody to share the spotlight.

I saw him a few years ago wiith John Mayall's Bluesbrekeakers - great night. A tip - get down to the front at the end as he throws out handfuls of BB King guitar picks.

cant really describe in words how good that was, an hour and half each with 30 min break between them. the roof nearly blew off when BB appeared.

only bad thing - they didnt do a song together!

but it didnt matter it was brilliant

we have tickets for eric clapton in may, and i saw a poster in the arena that said he is supported by Robert Cray! im happy!

I saw BB King in Atlanta about 17 years ago or so. Great show but be prepared for LOTS of screaming from the announcer that BB King is HERE! BB KING! BLAH BLAH BLAH BB KING!!! I'd say it was the house announcer but other big names weren't carried on to that extent. Maybe it was just for that event, I don't know...let's hope, for your ear's sake that it was! The music is incredible...have fun!

We saw him a couple of years ago. His legs won't keep him up for a whole concert, so he performs sitting in a chair, but he is still delightful, and still can play Lucille like a woman.

When we heard him, there was if anything a more revered hush over the audience... he had to work a little to get people to loosen up. But then, it was in a high end Center For The Arts with High End type folks. A few years ago, I heard the Five Blind Boys Of Alabama in a similar hoity-toity setting and was so bored that I left after the first set. Last year, my wife and I and Joe and his wife went to hear the Five Blind Boys again in an old theater in New Haven, and the audience was very different.. not the dinner party and cocktails before the concert, fur coat crowd. Broadcloth coats and jeans. We had church.

The audience can make all the difference.

Problem is, dont have a proper lens for the camera yet, so couldnt zoom in without having to hold camera still for about 2 seconds, which is impossible would have needed tripod.
so they didnt come out too well most were very blurry but these are about the best two

rest assured we will be getting a lens very soon
