30 Jul 06 - 08:12 PM (#1797292) Subject: RE: Ormstown Qc. Branches and Roots Festival From: bobad Spent Saturday at the festival and I must say it was one of the most pleasant and enjoyable music events I have attended in a long time. The venue and atmosphere were totally unpretentious and friendly in the extreme. The acts, for the most part, were top notch and professional. It was most gratifying to see younger folks getting into the folk idiom and at a skill level that belies their age. Some singer/songwriters to look out for; Terry Joe "Banjo" Rodrigues, Joe Grass and Mike O'Brien - fantatic musicians and pretty good songwriters and all around or under 30 years of age. Google them for more info and keep your eye on them. |
