Not only St George's Day, but the 20th birthday of Genevieve Tudor's programme (originally presented by Richard Walker).
Have a look what she played and listen to the show here.

And, of course, just too late for the second edition of the new Bishop's Castle Folk Club. A very entertaining evening was had at the Three Tuns, with Brackenwood and various others, on Friday.

Next month's club will be on 19th May in the Church Barn (a lovely venue) and will be a singers' night. Beer from the Six Bells!

So where are all the replies to this? I thought, when I started a folk club last month there were loads of folkies in Shropshire. It's now on hold until October because of lack of interest. After sone some research I now find that no one will come to events if it has the word 'folk' in the advertising. This was heard when someone was asked "I've never heard of him, and I'm not going because it's folk music".

Yes, I realise I woke up and smelt the coffee. We had 74 people to see Mr.JK and 24 to see Brackenrigg. The advertising was the same so what went wrong? No interest, no support.

October will see a ceilidh/folk club when the winter nights roll in.
