13 Feb 99 - 08:24 AM (#58408) Subject: RE: Lyrics for shetland song From: The Shambles I lived in Shetland for many years and although there is a great musical interest, there are more tunes than songs. I must say the song is unknown to me, it does sound a little improbable, but if it exists I'm sure it will turn up here. I look forward to hearing a song that links Joe Hill with fishing and the Island of Foula? If it dosen't turn up I think I will have to write one. Baby-Faced Nelson, (the gangster) did come from the island of Bressay. |

14 Feb 99 - 06:45 AM (#58533) Subject: RE: Lyrics for shetland song From: Barbara Shambles, all weekend the 'Cat has been eating parts of people's messages, some more than others. Then when the next person posts, a missing bit of the message will show up in their post. I seriously doubt that the anonymous person at the top of the post is looking for Joe Hill. His (her) message ends at the word "Foul". The rest should be "..la Doon" and whatever else s/he said about the song may turn up on the end of another post to another thread. Does that help? Blessings, Barbara |
