14 May 06 - 06:04 PM (#1740781) Subject: BS - Old Romahome needs new owner From: nutty I have spent part of my sons inheritance on an almost new (state of the art) motor home, so am looking for a new owner for the vehicle that has been my constant companion for the past 9 years. Mechanically, she is very sound with an engine that goes like a bomb. At 15 years old her body is showing signs of age although her problems could be easily solved by someone with an aptitude for DIY. She has an MOT until the middle of August and is taxed until Feb 2007. The van base is a Citroen C15 with a 1798 diesel engine (50mpg is possible on a long run). Mileage is 107,000 so the engine should be just about run in. The van is in daily use and has been extremely reliable and is being offered at a very reasonable price given how expensive these things are. The Romahome has -- FRIDGE, COOKER & GRILL, SINK, PORTA POTTTI, 2 SINGLE BEDS or 1 HUGE DOUBLE, LEISURE BATTERY & ELECTRICS, DOUBLE GLAZING & PLENTY OF STORAGE SPACE. An Apache awning is also included PM me if interested. |

15 May 06 - 06:51 PM (#1741351) Subject: RE: BS - Old Romahome needs new owner From: Richard Bridge The engine on the C15D will outlast the pyramids, but the body and chassis will NOT - tinworm a speciality. Also there are about 15,000,000 different variants for usually standard things like wheelbearings electrical relays, brake calipers, etc, etc, so maintenance requires knowledge and care with chassis numbers (and sometimes taking the old bit to a specialist repairer not necessarily a dealer. I had a Visa Diesel, a cousin to the C15D for a while. |

18 May 06 - 11:12 AM (#1743183) Subject: RE: BS - Old Romahome needs new owner From: EBarnacle I moan, I die. This would certainly meet my needs. The only problem would be sneaking it into the US. As mentioned, at 100K, the mechanicals are just getting broken in. It's the body that rots out. |
