There were certainly moves announced to combine the two requirements (PPL/PRS) into one payment. If it was a reduction for the cost of live music - it could be seen as good news but any increased charge is rarely good news as it has a knock-on effect on everything else. I suspect that anyone currently thinking of providing a DJ rather than live music as a main attraction, on grounds of costs - will more likely to knock the whole thing on the head rather than book a live band instead (for the same fee). |
