So far I know of myself, Jeff, Brian and Marion Rodgers, maybe Growler and Melodeonboy, but I think others to whom I have spoken may also arrive eg possibly Fisheye and I'm sure I've forgotten some... |

25 May 06 - 03:59 AM (#1747105) Subject: RE: Pig's Ear Folk Ale Markbeech From: Richard Bridge Debs, can't you tent and get a lift off one of the others, or maybe one of them has spare space? I guess you'd have to leave the dogs behind. If my memory serves me Dave Bryant used to have a spare tent. Alternatively if you can get a lift I can bring a spare tent - but if you want me to do so please ring me to remind me on the morning of the Friday - you have both landline and mobile numbers I think |

25 May 06 - 04:04 AM (#1747112) Subject: RE: Pig's Ear Folk Ale Markbeech From: The Barden of England I'll be there along with my significant other half (not by size though I must add). See the website here:- http://homepage.mac.com/pigsear/Pages/GigGuide.html With lots of good artists and camping all for £15 for the weekend it is an absolute bargain, and caters for those who want a good session or singaround late into the night. The pub itself serves great beer and if wanted it also serves great food too. I've really enjoyed the last few I've been to so try and make it if you can. John Barden |

25 May 06 - 05:20 AM (#1747150) Subject: RE: Pig's Ear Folk Ale Markbeech From: The Barden of England I think I could arrange to take the 'Cloth Hotel' along with me, though I don't fancy having to put it up much, not that it's difficult more that I'm now a soft caravanner who even uses an electric drill to lower and raise the stabiliser legs!!! Debs would certainly have a lot of room mind you, and It's up for sale for a reasonable price. Might take the older one mind you as that's easier to erect. John B |

25 May 06 - 05:27 PM (#1747530) Subject: RE: Pig's Ear Folk Ale Markbeech From: Dipsodeb Thankyou all for your kindness, but I have tents in abundance I just don't use them because of the camper van once you've used a camper you get very comfy and tents go out the window ;D Thanks for the offer though Richard and john. I remember putting up those big beasts too (not much fun)especially in the rain, not that it will of course! I have been offered lifts as well so I should be there. Thanks ~Debs~ |

26 May 06 - 04:39 AM (#1747701) Subject: RE: Pig's Ear Folk Ale Markbeech From: The Barden of England Wasn't my idea - I saw Brian Rodgers using one and thought "What a good idea. I've got one of those rechargeable drills". All you need is a "CORNER STEADY DRILL ATTACHMENT" which can be got from Trident Trailers in Sittingbourne. |

27 May 06 - 03:33 AM (#1748312) Subject: RE: Pig's Ear Folk Ale Markbeech From: woodsie Sounds like this will be a good weekend! I'm suprised that none of my folkmob mates mentioned it to me. Worth it just to hear the two best acts on the Kentish folk scene: Pig's Ear & John Barden. When you are lying in your tent at night - listen carefully ... is that a minstrel singing? It's the ghost of John Robbins. Honestly! |

27 May 06 - 05:07 AM (#1748346) Subject: RE: Pig's Ear Folk Ale Markbeech From: woodsie Hi Richard! I've been ill and had to give up drinking and smoking. So I haven't been going out much. Good news is that my "liver count" is down (whatever that means)so I can drink in moderation! I will try and get to this gig for Saturday afternoon, as I am working in the morning. Be good to see y'all. |

06 Jun 06 - 09:19 AM (#1754062) Subject: RE: Pig's Ear Folk Ale Markbeech From: The Barden of England 'Tis nice to get to hear the bands at the 'Pig's Ear Folk Ale'. I didn't get much of a chance in the evenings though as I was running the 'session'. Got to ay that there was some fine playing and singing in there too. Keith deserves a medal for the weather, along with the rest of Pig's Ear for putting this festival on. John Barden |
