Myspace and Love

Nothing about lawyers in this thread. Or Rupert Murdoch either. This is an entirely different side of Myspace and one of the most important I think.

Following various 'friends' from musicians sites the other day, I ended up in China! There I found a site belonging to a very kind man called Clay, and in his Blogs was some poetry written by a young man called Peter.

I then followed the links to the site of Peter's mother, Gloria.

Tragically Peter was knocked down and killed a while back, by a drunken driver. He was just 22 years old and he was the only child of Gloria and her husband Charlie.   Charlie is a musician, Gloria is a teacher.

During his short life, Peter wrote poetry, some songs and stories too and his parents are trying to keep his words alive. I have, with Gloria's kind permission, taken some of Peter's words over to my front page, and put a link in to Gloria's site.

These two people are absolutely lovely. They live in New Jersey....and something tells me that right now....they could do with a lot of love and support. So...if anyone 'out there' has a Myspace page, perhaps you'd like to take a look for yourselves.

This first link is to Gloria, Peter's Mum:

This link is to Charlie, Peter's Dad:

There are some lovely photos of Peter and his family in the 'pics' section under both photos on their pages too.

And this is Clay, who led me to Peter and his parents:

Again, some beautiful photos on there. And read the story about their hopefully 'soon to be adopted' little Chinese daughter, "Melissa" Lin Xiao Qing. She was left in a box at the end of their street.

Myspace, for all the negative things that some people say about it, has an *incredible* power for people to reach out and touch one another. Clay teaches young students over in China and he's opening their eyes to masses of wonderful music from around the world. It is a wondrous thing, if used correctly and for the right reasons.

Anyway....many thanks to those of you who will take the trouble to go over and 'connect' with Gloria and Charlie out in New Jersey. I wish you well.

I should just say, having tested them, that the links DO work, but they take a little while to load up.
