16 Jun 06 - 10:37 AM (#1761408) Subject: Who is Touring Where/When Permathread From: Susan of DT THIS IS A MODERATED PERMATHREAD Folk Perfomers should list here plans for future tours here, FOUR to TWELVE MONTHS IN ADVANCE. The object is to facilitate scheduling gigs by having the people who do booking for venues know that you are going to be around. This is mostly for long distance tours - transatlantic, to Australia, West coast US to East coast, etc. There will also be a permathread on venues that hire folk musicians. I will arrange the postings by month and location, removing the individual postings as I integrate them into the thread structure. Let's say Performer A is from Scotland and is coming to Washington DC in December and is looking for other bookings from DC south, while performer B is from Boston and heading to Scotland in December looking for bookings all over the UK. These would land in two postings to this thread: December 2006 Eastern US and December 2006 UK. If performer C were coming from California to the east coast in December, that would be in the same December 2006 Eastern US posting. INCLUDE A LINK TO YOUR WEBSITE, so people will know who they want to hire. Let's give this a try and see what happens. This is a large enough community that this should be a win win situation if people will use it. I will edit out comments after a short while and will remove past dates. |

Touring performers - If you post your dates here way in advance, you may get some additional bookings as venues realize you are going to be around, in enough time to fit you into their schedules. It would seem to be a win-win situation. If more of you use this thread, then it will become more useful and people will know to look here for the info. Fidjit - thanx. I bookmarked it for personal use, but I am not going chasing listings. Venues need to say they want to be listed (on the other permathread). Performers - If I happen to find out that you are touring, do you want me to list that info here? Do not count on my finding out without telling me. |
