19 Jun 06 - 08:11 PM (#1764140) Subject: Bob Woollett From: Girl Friday Some of you may already know that Bob is laid very low with cancer. He and I used to run Orpington Friday Folk together in the early days. I have already organised one singaround at his bedside[ his front room] which was a great success. Hopefully, he'll be able to enjoy another one soon. I am getting people together for Saturday July 8th. We hope to record the next one with a view to selling copies for the local hospice. Anyone interested please? |

I was on a death bed (2X actually) when most of the Johnson Girls (& my singing partner Neil Downey at a different time) came in & sang at my bedside. I joke that when they left I saw the devil & he said that the music was too beautiful & that he now wanted no part or me. It wasn't true but it felt like it. I'm sure it'll do wonders for Bob. Best of luck to you friend. Barry |
