Bob Woollett

Some of you may already know that Bob is laid very low with cancer. He and I used to run Orpington Friday Folk together in the early days. I have already organised one singaround at his bedside[ his front room] which was a great success. Hopefully, he'll be able to enjoy another one soon. I am getting people together for Saturday July 8th. We hope to record the next one with a view to selling copies for the local hospice. Anyone interested please?

Hi Girl Friday,
what a splendid thing to do. I don't know you or Bob but I wish Bob well. I was on a death bed (2X actually) when most of the Johnson Girls (& my singing partner Neil Downey at a different time) came in & sang at my bedside. I joke that when they left I saw the devil & he said that the music was too beautiful & that he now wanted no part or me. It wasn't true but it felt like it. I'm sure it'll do wonders for Bob.
Best of luck to you friend.
Barry

Thanks Linda- that'll be lovely. Barry- thankyou for your posting. Bob was on a high for some time after our first singaround. I am sure that mark 2 will cheer him greatly.

Refresh. July 8th may not be a goer because of Ely for one. An alternative date is July 22nd. Have had a little conversation with Bob today. He's hanging in there! Still he'd be better for a bit of a sing.
