21 Jun 06 - 03:16 PM (#1765778) Subject: Milkmaid Folk Club - Bury St. Edmunds From: folkwaller Friday 16th welcombed Flossie Malavialle for an evening of song and patter to the Milkmaid Folk Club in Bury. Flossie, originally from France but now from ' up north ' entertained us with some wonderful singing and humerous patter. Her interpretations of Edith Piaffs songs were fantastic. If you have a chance to see her perform book a ticket. Supporting Flossie were a local star band, Bof. Bof are a superb band who play mainly French dance music. Their line up alternates between : guitar, melodian, hurdy gurdy, flute, pipes and an instrument somewhere beween an oboe and a trumpet. Various members also sing. If you are interested in French dance, sessions are held in the Constitutional club in Bury fortnightly. Leaping forward to the 14th July it is open night/singers night. If any singer or musician would like to perform on this night please turn up early so the evening can be planned. See you there. |

Judging from the website, that's an interesting question. So for July 14 is it going to be the Sugar Beet Sports and Social Club, or the Legion, the Constitutional or somewhere else? Good luck with your venue hunting - I know there's been problems beyond your control. Anahata |
