Norwich 2nite:28/6/06 El Greko opens for E.Bogle

Tonight (28th June) at 8:00pm at the Norwich Arts Centre, St Benedicts Street, Norwich NR2 4PG, I will do a 30-minute opening spot for the great Scottish bard from Oz. Tickets are £10 (£8 concessions).

Really looking forward to it, as you might imagine - I have run support for Eric before (in 2003), and he and John Munro stayed at my place at the time, so it'll be really nice to see them both again. It's a long trek (3 hours each way) from where I live, but it's worth it - and a friend is giving me a lift anyway. I have rarely ventured into the fenland and surrounding areas and I am unknown in Campbridge, Ely etc, so it's an opportunity to break into a new market too.

If you are coming to the concert, please come and say "hi".

George Papavgeris

Just remember to shut it on your way out, and turn the lights off when you leave, George...

I'd like to be there but I don't have wings, maybe George you'll be crossing the pond in the near future.
I'm glad to see that Wee Eric is closing for you.

Hi George,
At last we have something in common - Hissyfit opened for Eric and John on 14th June!
He and John were wonderful as ever.
Hope they, and you, had a great time....you'll not have started as I type but I'll be playing your CD then theirs tonight!

Will you be at Warwick this year? - please say yes as we'd love to do a little bit of backing for you like at Helmsley soooo long ago!

Love to you and Mrs El G.
Hazel.(and Linda - who would say Hi - but is on Holiday in Croatia!!!)

God, I love this Cafe. Here you are complaining about being unknown so close to home--and I know you and talk about your wonderful songs here in central Texas, USA. Given the time diff, you're probably done as I write, but I hope you treated 'em to "The Bite of The Underdog". And any of the ones you've made which make me cry...Tw

Just back. Yes, Tw, the folk scene is quite regionalised in the UK at grass roots level; few cross the borders, and most of them are UK 'Catters.

No time for "Underdog", I'm afraid. I did "Emptyhanded", "Anytown", "Memory", "Watermelon Seeds", and the new "Miracle of life" as a finisher.

You DID turn the lights off, didn't you George?

(OK, another one over your head! - if YOU were the last one out, THAT means that the audience...)

With the lights off I couldn't see any audience, Robin :-)

Sigh! I don't know why they say you're dumb George...

"if YOU were the last one out, THAT means that the audience..."

has left before you did...

OK, now homework for NEXT month...

WHY?

;-)

I had it first go, Robin, but was too late - Barry had already given the best possible answer... As to the why, obviously they didn't want to have to turn the lights out!
