Song Challenge - Hopkin the Lost Frog

Since I made up most of the Ballad of Hogzilla (to the tune of theme from Beverly Hillbillies) I thought maybe someone else might want the honor of immortalizing the sad plight of Hopkin the lost frog.

Go to this website for the original mention of Hopkins' fate. Then keep clicking on the pictures to see his story go worldwide. Hopkin is still lost as far as I know and since his owner terry obviously loved him very much, he deserves a ballad of his own, eys?

So, tell us what tune and what lyrics for:

OK, here are the easy ones:

"Hopkin Frog, Hopkin Frog, where have you been?"
"I've been to eBay to bring in the green."
"Hopkin Frog, Hopkin Frog, what did you there?"
"I found a buyer, my story to share."

(I could follow up, but, nah, I don't think so.)

Oh, where, oh where has my little frog gone?
Oh where, oh where can he be?
With his eBay price set short and his legend writ long,
Alas for his poor family!

(Hmm. I'll have to give this song challenge more time.) :D

That's such a sad story - not so much the loss of a toy but the fact that the owner was an autistic adolescent boy and the family don't seem to understand. Perhaps they confiscated the toy in the first place because it's not considered age appropriate???

How 'bout this one?

To the tune of "Ghost Riders"

A Hopkins Frog went missing one bright and shiny day
He took a world-wide journey courtesy of old Ebay
Then on a lonely lighting pole; his image did appear
A heartfelt plea for his return
For a friend once loved so dear

Yippee - Yi - Oh, Yippee - Yi - Ay
A much-loved froggy, now lost on old Ebay

How much is that froggy on the eBay,
The one that's all green with no ta-ai-ai-ai-ail?

(You guys can fill in the rest.)

As the father of two Asperger's boys and an Asperger myself I would hope and pray, Robyn that the frog was simply lost and not confiscated and that the family DID in fact understand his difficulties. It's possible he was OVER obsessed with 'Hopkin' and its loss gave him a chance to leave it behind - however an adjunct to the story indicates he got another one.
