20 Jul 06 - 06:27 AM (#1788069) Subject: RE: BOM Fest Barnsley on Sat From: GUEST,John Robinson As I mentioned on another thread, the BOM (Barnsley Original Music) people have really transformed the music scene in the area over the last few years. I helped them with the publicity for last year's festival but it clashed with Customs House Guitar Festival so Julie didn't get to perform. We're looking forward to contributing this year. |

24 Jul 06 - 08:36 AM (#1791551) Subject: RE: BOM Fest Barnsley on Sat From: GUEST,Sarah in Barnsley I did, a fantastic day out, especially for barnsley. There was a great atmousphere - a good mix of people , teenagers , people with young kids, dogs etc, and something on for everyone, the samba band did a couple of performances until..... it rained solid and heavily for 2 hours, starting at about 5, the mainstage and extreme stage had to be shut down for health and safety reasons - there was simply too much water about. But to their credit, the organisers soldierd on and kept the festival going, albeit on a smaller scale, from the acoustic/roots tent. I caught a few moments of leon O'Doherty, Julie Ellion, an Auzzie Bloke, and a girl who played her flute and sang at the same time!?! anyone any idea who they were? |
