The song relates the story of an aspiring Don Juan having the tables turned on him when she informs him that she was just using him. I have part of it in memory: Her name Was Cathy O'Grady A natural Mendocino lady I picked her up hitchin' on the road to Caspar I had a personal question to ask her She said "come up to my cabin on the mountain above" I went up...and I fell in love Next morning when I asked her if she'd be my wife She told me her philosophy of life It's just thing I do To while away an hour or two Mister let me tell you 'for you're too involved This ain't the place to get your problem solved It's just a game I play To while away a Mendocino rainy day It's just a thing I do, I do, It's just a thing I do... Somethin' like that, anyway :-) What's the rest? What've I got wrong? |
