For anyone's interest, here are the notes to the song: 'A Larkhall ghost story. In the middle of the nineteenth century a member of the local aristocracy went out to Southern Africa to do his bit for the Empire. One of the pieces of plunder he brought back with hime was his very own dusky maiden who, according to local legend, was murdered by him soon after she arrived.
