08 Aug 06 - 06:50 PM (#1804778) Subject: RE: The 'Pirate song' becomes....ummm From: Jeri The pirate song was based on the saying, "It's all fun and games until somebody loses an eye." I don't know where that originated - I wish I did. It's not that old, but it's older than the song. Doryman's Mate does the song, and did it last weekend on board the USCGC Eagle. I got the words right here. We have wacky Wednesdays at work, and the last one I was there for was pirate themed. Two guys came dressed as airline pilots. Funny guys. I brought the song. |

I think Billy Bones says this line at the beginning of Muppet Treasure Island. There, you've done it. Now I 've got CABIN FEVER! Gary (not a "Professional Pirate") |

09 Aug 06 - 03:15 PM (#1805492) Subject: RE: The 'Pirate song' becomes....ummm From: Liz the Squeak It's a genetic thing.. you can't help doing it... I once vowed that if I ever had children, I'd never say 'you'll do yourself a mischief with that', 'because I say so', 'eat your crusts, it'll make your hair curl', 'you'll have someone's eye out with that', 'you break your leg, don't come running to me' and other such motherly sayings... Guess what. I've said nearly all of 'em to the Limpit at one time or another. LTS |
