Another sinbin to check out, and I didn't even go to any flea markets, antique stores, yard or garage sales (Even churches have sinbins once or twice a year-Rid your self of your guilt and excesses and buy the same or similar stuff back at their rummage sale knowing your money will go to a good cause, so you're still guilt-free!) yet today!

Welcome from some guy in Laurel Maryland USA! You'll like it here!

Severn

Deposit the story behind your Mud Name here or at the ongoing Mudcat Handles thread that's currently out there, and let us get to know you.

So, like, where the heck is sinbin? If you read this, "Hi!" If you don't, well, "Hi" anyway.

Throw away your troubles in an old sin bin and smile smile smile"

[Hey you UKers hipped me to what a bin was in another thread.
And sin-well, sin I know...at least I know what it is, but I'm relatively free of it..at least that's my story here}.

Of course, sinbin's name probably has nothing to do with either "sin" or "bin".

I'm interested in knowing the real story behind his {or her?} name.

Any way, welcome Sinbin!

Share, learn, and enjoy!

Hello everyone,

Sorry haven't been online - had things to sort out.

"sinbin" is an old rugby nickname.

Will be back soon.

If it's an 'old' nickname you must have played League- the sinbin wasn't introduced to Union till 1997, which is of course recent.

Wot's rugby? Is that the British game with no rules but they say it has them?

18 Aug 06 - 04:12 AM (#1812874)
Subject: RE: BS: welcome sinbin
From: Paul Burke

Rugby is like American football, but faster, without the breaks, and with less body armour. It comes in two flavours, league and union. The main difference is that in union they roll on the floor fighting; in league they have to fight standing up.

{winces}

Mr Burke, please!

American football is like Rugby but slower, with far too many (commercial) breaks, & a load of armour that Real Men (OK, Real Stupid, or Real Psychopathic Men, if we're talking about Rugby players...) don't need. It comes in two flavours, AFL & NFL, but since no-one outside of the US understands what the hell is going, no-one outside of the US can even be sure whether they're playing by the same rules...

(Now if that doesn't start a trans-atlantic flame war... That sinbin, he's a troublemaker, I'm tellin' yez...)

"AFL & NFL"

HOLD ON.

It also comes in CFL. Same game with slightly different rules. (The C stands for Canadian.)
