I saw a post on the nyckelharpa forum recently
from Scott Marshall who has started a Hurdy-gurdy forum....
at http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/HurdyGurdyForum/
they are planning a Hurdy-gurdy festival next April in Lancaster, UK.

They are in the process of arranging a Nyckelharpa workshop as
part of the HG festival, if anyone is interested, please get in touch.

I had recommended he post the info here, since UK catters
use this forume to announce events, etc. and since i think
we have a few hurdy gurdy or nyckelharpa players on here..

i cannot find Scott's complete e-mail address..
it starts with " the.maud " i will look further.

They've always got piles at Audlem Bagpipe & Hurdy Gurdy Day.

Audlem's in Cheshire, between Crewe & Whitchurch.

There'll be one this year, usually weekend following Bonfire Night [November 5th] - see here:

Make sure these people
know about it- there are several excellent HG players regularly in the band. In fact, it's on tomorrow, so if I make it I'll try to point them there.

Mr H- I was seriously thinking of going to Audlem till you told me about the serious outbreak of haemorrhoids. Shouldn't the WHO be doing something?

Hi, I am looking for a hurdy gurdy teacher or player or workshops in the UK.

I just bought a new hurdy gurdy after taking part in a 2 day workshop and I must admit, I feel quite helpless on my own with this beautiful instrument. So I need help, any help I can get. I live in Southampton, but will certainly travel for any workshop.

Christa

The Who?

Application of their 'Pinball Wizard' - perhaps?
