29 Aug 06 - 02:22 PM (#1821886) Subject: BS: Ubited States used cluster fuck From: Bee-dubya-ell United States forces in Iraq have been accused of using a banned combat technique known in military circles as a "cluster fuck". Reliable sources have reported that the first use of a cluster fuck occurred within mere seconds of the time a large statue of Saddam Hussein hit the ground in Baghdad and that cluster fucking has been standard operating procedure ever since. Though both military and civilian leaders have repeatedly assured the American public (and anyone else who is dumb enough to listen) that what appears to be cluster fucks are, in fact, well-planned strategic decisions, impartial observers say there is little doubt that cluster fucks have been in use in Iraq almost since the war's inception. In fact, there are many who claim that the decision to invade Iraq in the first place was a cluster fuck of epic proportions. |

29 Aug 06 - 07:42 PM (#1822196) Subject: RE: BS: United States used cluster fuck From: Bee-dubya-ell By the way, it has occurred to me that there may be some folks who aren't familiar with the term "cluster fuck" or "clusterfuck". From the Wikipedia entry for military slang: clusterfuck A disastrous situation that results from the cumulative errors of several people or groups. In semi-polite company this is referred to as a Charlie Foxtrot (The letters "C" and "F" from the NATO phonetic alphabet). |

Another term which has cast off its mundane beginnings and adopted a meaning almost totally unrelated to them! (I first heard "Mongolian Clusterfuck" in about 1969, used to describe an orgy where you don't change partners, but simply "do who you brung" in a big pile.) I suppose you can find the connections with a little adroit mental gymnastics. |

30 Aug 06 - 08:17 AM (#1822578) Subject: RE: BS: United States used cluster fuck From: GUEST,Mingulay at work English history is littered with examples of clusterfucking from the Battle of Hastings (they'll never get up this hill) through to WWI (it'll be over by Christmas and who's ever heard of the Dardanelles). Clusterfucking also rears its head in commerce, Gerald Ratner being a noted master of the art. (For those who don't know Mr Ratner publicly admitted that his chain of jewellry shops sold crap). |
