Any 'catters going to this weekend's OTR, Mrrzy will be deep in the mud behind the security tent. Ask for the Naked Man.

Old Timer's Reunion. Ernesto missed us so there was drizzle and mud but no pouring rain... think "the second week of deer camp" without the weaponry.

I guess then it can't be "On The Rag", right?

Since this thread went astray, maybe it would be a good idea to start another one next year called Old Timer's Reunion, and tell us about the festival in advance. Unrecognizable abbreviations are real discussion-killers. It's too bad, because this is something I'd like to know about.

Hmmm - my bad. I think if you don't know about it, you don't know about it, but I was trolling for 'catters.

I guess she was at the The 57th annual Old Timers Reunion, a closed gathering of members of The Robertson Association and their registered guests. The Robertson Association (TRA) was created to administer the annual cavers event known as the Old Timers Reunion (OTR). Members of The Robertson Association must be endorsed or sponsored by a current member of The Robertson Association.

Cavers? Spelunkologists.

"Most members of The Robertson Association feel that OTR is too crowded and there are too many non-caving guests attending. We cannot easily expand our land, water, and sanitary facilities. Most TRA members seem to want to have OTR be a place to meet old friends, trade stories, play games, and go caving. It is the responsibility of every TRA member not to invite to OTR those who have never been caving or have no desire to cave. Please do your part to keep OTR a Caver's event."

This year's events were planned to be:

Thursday: Lutz Rock: Raising the Flag, Memorial Service for departed old-timers. Bonfire: ROOTs and COOTs Gathering. Main Pavilion: 3-D slide show followed by Mummy Madness movies - a chance to recycle your OTR 2005 fez or wrap yourself in bandages.

Friday: Old fashioned pub crawl - catch Shanty Irish at COOTers and later crawl or stagger to the main pavilion to see The Prodigals.

Saturday: Auction, Lion's Club chicken dinners, TRA Awards Ceremony, groove to the Rhodes Tavern Troubadours.

Sunday: Sauna fund-raiser, Kilt night, OTR Awards Ceremony, dance to DJs Johnny Parsons and Debbie St. Pierre, after-hours farewell fun.

SpeleoOlympics: Begin noon Friday and end noon Sunday. Check the OTR Program or Contests Shack for details, schedules, and rules.
